Their first booking agent was their Aunt Margarita who was apparently quite an outgoing individual and must have really believed in the duets ability to succeed, so she helped them find some local gigs in the San Antonio area.
Eventually, on March 14, 1941 they signed a recording contract with Columbia Records. Back then they got paid $120.00 each for recording 12 songs and there were no residuals paid.
